This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds related to Therapists Unchained membership and services provided by Suckerman Counseling PLLC. We are committed to member satisfaction while maintaining fair business practices.

GENERAL POLICY STATEMENT

Suckerman Counseling PLLC (DBA: Therapists Unchained) is committed to providing high-quality continuing education and membership services. This refund policy complies with Washington State consumer protection laws (RCW 19.86), NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider requirements, ASWB ACE standards, and APA continuing education guidelines.
 

 

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS

Monthly Subscriptions

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time

  • Refund Period: Full refund available within 7 days of initial subscription purchase

  • Prorated Refunds: No prorated refunds for partial months after the 7-day period

  • Access: You retain access to purchased content through the end of your current billing cycle

  • Processing Time: Refunds processed within 5-10 business days

Annual Subscriptions

  • Refund Period: Full refund available within 30 days of purchase if less than 25% of content has been accessed

  • Partial Refunds: Prorated refunds available within 60 days based on unused portion, minus a $25 processing fee

  • No Refund Period: No refunds after 60 days or if more than 50% of annual content has been accessed

  • Processing Time: Refunds processed within 10-15 business days
     

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSES

Individual Course Purchases

Before Course Access

  • Full Refund: 100% refund available up to 48 hours before scheduled live events

  • Administrative Fee: $15 administrative fee applies to all pre-course cancellations made less than 7 days before the course date

After Course Access (Self-Paced/On-Demand)

  • No Access Refund: Full refund if technical issues prevent course access within 48 hours of purchase

  • Partial Completion: 50% refund if less than 25% of course material has been accessed within 7 days of purchase

  • No Refund: No refunds after completing more than 25% of course content or after 14 days from purchase date

Live/Webinar Events

  • Pre-Event Cancellation: Full refund minus $15 administrative fee if canceled 48+ hours before event

  • Late Cancellation: 50% refund if canceled 24-48 hours before event

  • No-Show/Same Day: No refunds for no-shows or same-day cancellations

  • Technical Issues: Full refund or course credit if technical problems prevent participation (provider-caused issues only)

Course Bundles/Packages

  • Unused Courses: Refunds calculated based on individual course pricing for unused courses only

  • Partial Usage: No refunds for bundles where any course has been completed

  • Time Limit: All bundle refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase

 


SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Provider-Initiated Cancellations

  • Full Refund: 100% refund for courses canceled by Therapists Unchained

  • Alternative Options: Course credit or transfer to equivalent program when available

  • Notification: Minimum 48-hour notice for non-emergency cancellations

Technical Issues

  • Platform Problems: Full refund or course credit for verified technical issues preventing completion

  • User Equipment: No refunds for technical issues caused by participant's equipment or internet connection

Medical/Emergency Situations

  • Documentation Required: Medical documentation or other emergency verification required

  • Case-by-Case Review: Evaluated individually with potential for full or partial refund

  • Time Limit: Requests must be made within 30 days of course date

Military Deployment

  • Full Refund: 100% refund with valid military deployment orders

  • Course Credit: Alternative of course credit valid for 12 months

 

COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

NBCC Compliance

  • Maintains all refund records for audit purposes

  • Ensures refund policies do not compromise CE credit integrity

  • Provides clear disclosure of all policies before purchase

ASWB ACE Compliance

  • Adheres to approved continuing education provider standards

  • Maintains quality assurance regardless of refund circumstances

  • Provides documentation for all transactions

APA Compliance

  • Meets continuing education sponsor requirements

  • Ensures ethical standards in all refund decisions

  • Maintains professional development integrity

Washington State Law Compliance

  • Complies with RCW 19.86 Unfair Business Practices Act

  • Provides clear disclosure of refund policies before purchase as no law requires refunds unless merchandise is defective or misrepresented

REFUND PROCESS

How to Request a Refund

  2. Information Required:

    • Full name and account email

    • Order/subscription number

    • Reason for refund request

    • Supporting documentation (if applicable)

  3. Response Time: Initial response within 2 business days

  4. Processing: Approved refunds processed within 10-15 business days

Refund Methods

  • Original Payment Method: Refunds issued to original payment method when possible

  • Alternative Methods: Check or account credit if original method unavailable

  • Processing Fees: Credit card processing fees may be deducted from refunds (typically 2.9% + $0.30)
     

 

EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

Non-Refundable Items

  • Completed continuing education courses with certificates issued

  • Digital downloads after successful download

  • Courses accessed beyond the specified completion thresholds

  • Administrative and processing fees

  • Courses purchased with promotional codes or during sales (partial restrictions may apply)

Abuse Prevention

  • Maximum of 2 refund requests per customer per 12-month period

  • Account review for excessive refund requests

  • Right to deny service for abuse of refund policy
     

 

COURSE CREDITS AND TRANSFERS

Alternative to Refunds

  • Course Credit: May be offered in lieu of refund (valid for 12 months)

  • Course Transfer: Ability to transfer to different course of equal or lesser value

  • Membership Credit: Partial refunds may be applied as membership credit
     

 

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Internal Process

  1. Contact customer service for initial resolution attempt

  2. Escalation to management team if needed

  3. Final review by compliance officer

External Options

  • Washington State Attorney General Consumer Protection Division

  • Professional licensing board complaints (for CE-related issues)

  • Better Business Bureau mediation

This refund policy may be updated periodically to maintain compliance with changing regulations. Customers will be notified of material changes via email and website posting. Changes apply to purchases made after the effective date of the update.
